PAL Programs
Below is a list of PAL Sponsored Programs with descriptions
and page links.
Reach One Mentoring
-
This program matches youth in
Middle School with caring adults to mentor them through crisis at
home and school.
PAL Education / Tutoring -
The Education/Tutoring Program works
with youth from grades 3-12 in homework and course specific tutoring
to help them achieve better grades in school, graduate and move on
to high education.
PAL Boxing Program
-
The PAL
Boxing Program is designed to educate youth on self-discipline,
nutrition, education and athletics while becoming productive
citizens in the community.
PAL Wrestling Program
The PAL Wrestling Club is for
after-school and Middle School Wrestling experience to help the
local high school programs and help youth get better in the sport of
wrestling.
Wildcats Basketball
The PAL
Basketball Teams provide after-school athletics, education
experience in skills, ability, sportsmanship and teamwork. The
Basketball Program is designed to be a feeder program for both the
middle and high schools.
NFL Flag Football
The
NFL Flag Football Program provides education experience in the
skills of football as well as enforcing school work. Flag Football
is a skills enhanced program designed to be a feeder to youth
recreation football, middle and high school teams.
SSS Step Team
The
SSS Step Team through Dunn PAL is designed to provide skills,
experience and education in Cheerleading, Step and dance to be
useful at school, college and careers outside of the education
system.
PAL Youth
Leadership Council Program
The
Youth Leadership Council is a youth operated organization like a
Civic Club and School Club combined to perform civic functions,
learn parliamentary procedure and other skills to successfully run a
club and/or organization. This program is part of our Education
Program.
Track and
Field
The
PAL Track and Field Program is designed for Middle and High School
youth as a feeder for the high schools in the area. PAL is chartered
with USA Track and Field and uses the local high school facilities
for events.
Tae Kwon Do
- Karate
The
Youth Tae Kwon Do Program (Karate) is a self defense and
self-discipline program. It teaches one on one techniques, skills
and sportsmanship.
Police Explorer Post
The
Dunn Police Explorer Post Program is a career educational program.
The Explorer Post provides hands on career oriented persons
interested in the law enforcement professional field of work. Youth
are trained by local law enforcement officers and get first hand of
what a law enforcement officer's daily work schedule consists of in
a day.
PAL Golf
The
Youth golf Program through Hook-A-Kid on Golf provides experience
and skills education through classroom and hands on instruction that
youth will be able to use at school and beyond secondary education.
PAL
Swimming Pool
The Swimming Pool located inside Codrington Park
next to the Dunn Police Athletic League is operated during the
summer months for families to swim. The swimming pool is owned by
the City of Dunn and operated by the Dunn Police Athletic League.
There are lifeguard(s) on duty the entire time the pool is open to
the public. There is an admission fee that is charged to everyone
entering and it is explained on the website page.
