Dunn PAL Develops New Web Site

More informational and interactive site for youth and community.

September 7, 2007 -  The Dunn Police Athletic/Activities League Youth Center was established in 1998 for all youth in the Harnett County area as a safe place for youth to go and hang out and become involved in various programs and have fun. The Center is located on approximately 11 acres of property that is leased to the City of Dunn and operated by the Dunn Police Department that includes a swimming pool, park (with outside basketball goals, tennis court, field and picnic area), Education Building (with computer lab and classrooms), playgrounds and PAL Center that includes: Game Room, Karate Room, Boxing Facilities, Basketball Gym and Mass Communication Room (includes Internet Radio and Video Production). The PAL Center is open to all youth in the area and membership is free. All a youth has to do is fill out a youth participation application and get a membership card to gain access to the facilities. The Center hours after-school are 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday - Friday closing at 6:00 PM on Wednesday's. The Center will be opening soon on Saturday's. The Center also has an Advisory Board and Youth Advisory Council (made up of all youth) that help guide the Center in its activities. The PAL Center is continuously seeking volunteers to help operate the Center and its activities.

January 28, 2005 -- The Dunn Police Athletic/Activities League has announced the implementation of their New Interactive Web Site which has a professional look and something for everyone. Dunn PAL is starting year 2005 in a big way with the introduction of their New Web Site. The web site details out PAL's objectives, goals, programs and more. This web site is larger and more detailed than the old site which was developed in 1998. This site has schedules, links, comments sections, video capability and music ability. People will be able to access applications for the gym, for PAL enrollment, to volunteer and lots more.

Dunn PAL also has the schools and juvenile services connected to the webs site and they are able to access certain files from the web site. PAL has also incorporated an in-depth Crime Prevention site for all the citizens.
